LCM Power Points Leaderboard, Edition 13: July 23 – July 29
-
Another week of long course racing is in the books, and the numbers are in. This edition's board is stacked with tight finishes and breakout swims from some of the country's deepest club programs — headlined by a National Age Group Record from Lubo Liu-Tchorbadjiyski in the 13-14 Boys bracket. Here's how the rankings shook out across all four age brackets.
10 & Under
Girls

Jordin Omoniyi and Emma Liu, both 9, went 32.92 and 32.94 in the 50 Fly to claim the top two spots by a margin of just two points, and the pair account for two of three CFSC/KATY-affiliated swims among the top 10 — Ahana Ghosh's 34.61 gave CFSC a second entry at No. 9. Elsewhere, Ella Xu's 1:26.94 100 Breast and Adeline Farrier's 1:09.78 100 Fly rounded out a top five built almost entirely on stroke events rather than freestyle.
Boys
Rank Swimmer Age Team Event Time Points 1 Gabriel Brown 10 FAST 200 IM 2:27.47 1081 2 Austin Ren 9 KATY 200 IM 2:41.68 1054 3 Bryce Alpert 9 AZOT 100 Fly 1:16.46 990 4 Jude Ramirez 9 KATY 50 Fly 33.81 966 5 Declan Wang 10 AZOT 100 Back 1:12.62 965 6 Matthew Zhao 10 BREA 100 Breast 1:22.15 962 7 Trevor Kin Ho Lam 9 DARE 50 Fly 33.89 961 8 Tate Harmon 10 DFAC 50 Fly 31.41 959 9 Adam Aburas 10 FCST 100 Back 1:13.39 945 10 Hoshi Aono 10 AZOT 100 Back 1:13.56 940 Gabriel Brown's 2:27.47 200 IM was the class of the boys' field, opening a 27-point gap over runner-up Austin Ren's own strong IM effort (2:41.68). It's worth noting Ren accomplished that at age 9, a year younger than Brown. AZOT placed three swimmers in the top 10 — Bryce Alpert, Declan Wang, and Hoshi Aono — spanning fly, back, and IM, a sign of real depth across strokes for that program this week.
11-12
Girls
Rank Swimmer Age Team Event Time Points 1 Penelope Chao 12 NCAC 1500 Free 17:43.43 996 2 Sarah Chiang 11 PDST 1500 Free 19:07.68 964 3 Zoe Hatfield 12 KCB 50 Breast 33.75 957 4 Joy Huang 11 BC 100 Fly 1:06.62 947 5 Kylee Carpenter 12 SHRK 100 Back 1:06.71 933 6 Isabella Moran 11 SAND 50 Back 32.84 917 7 Katherine Ballis 11 TWST 100 Breast 1:18.91 910 8 Bellamy Elrod 11 RAYS 100 Fly 1:08.03 907 9 Evyn Cain 12 WYNS 50 Fly 29.29 901 10 Ellie Sungy 11 CUDA 50 Breast 36.29 901 Distance freestyle set the tone at the top, with Penelope Chao's 17:43.43 1500 leading the way and Sarah Chiang backing it up at No. 2 — notable given Chiang did it as an 11-year-old racing up an age bracket in points terms. From there the board opens up stroke-wise, with breaststroke (Hatfield, Ballis, Sungy) and butterfly (Huang, Elrod, Cain) each landing three swimmers in the top 10. Cain and Sungy tied on points (901) despite competing in entirely different events, a good reminder of how the age-adjusted scoring can level swims that look very different on the clock.
Boys
Rank Swimmer Age Team Event Time Points 1 Junyou He 11 ROSE 50 Back 30.79 1060 2 Jiaming Liu 12 ROSE 50 Breast 31.95 1022 3 Jace Jackson 11 FAST 800 Free 9:37.76 1000 4 Eli Hu 11 MVN 100 Breast 1:17.64 990 5 ABRAHAM SOLIS PINTO 11 AAAA 200 Fly 2:32.94 989 6 Julian James 11 FCST 200 Breast 2:52.87 960 7 Ernest Hsu 11 ROSE 100 Breast 1:18.91 957 8 Ryan Malczewski 11 WEST 800 Free 9:49.06 952 9 Harrison Hull 11 FA 200 Fly 2:36.26 947 10 Leo Zhong 11 XCEL 1500 Free 19:35.63 945 Junyou He's 30.79 50 Back leads this bracket at 1060 points, with Jiaming Liu's 31.95 50 Breast close behind at No. 2. ROSE placed three swimmers in the top 10 — He, Liu, and Ernest Hsu — giving the program a strong presence across back, breast, and mixed age groups. The bottom half of the board leans distance and fly: Jace Jackson and Ryan Malczewski both cracked the top 10 in the 800 Free, Harrison Hull and Abraham Solis Pinto both scored well in the 200 Fly, and Leo Zhong's 19:35.63 1500 Free rounds out the board at No. 10. Three swims this week — Julian James's 200 Breast, Harrison Hull's 200 Fly, and Leo Zhong's 1500 Free — were recorded at the AAA standard rather than AAAA.

Breaststroke had a strong week here too, with Emma Fouke, Elissa Deal, and Millie Juergens all cracking the top 10 in either the 100 or 200. Kate Allen's 26.02 50 Free stands out as the lone pure sprint entry among a board otherwise dominated by mid-distance and stroke-200 swims.

Rank Swimmer Age Team Event Time Points 1 Jett Hatchard 13 OA 100 Back 58.18 1117 2 Daniel Bunge 13 NOVA 100 Fly 56.41 1090 3 Jacob Lee 13 ROSE 100 Breast 1:07.29 1042 4 Lubo Liu-Tchorbadjiyski 14 NTA 100 Free 51.03 1030 5 Ryan Yao 14 LIAC 200 IM 2:07.02 1026 6 Alex Kirsling 13 NTRO 100 Back 1:00.79 1014 7 Layten Norem 13 ACAC 100 Back 1:00.87 1011 8 Nelson Spaulding 13 CM 100 Fly 58.76 994 9 Jacob Garcia Villar 14 TFA 400 IM 4:31.80 993 10 Jaxson Daniel 14 NCAP 200 Back 2:06.47 989 The single best swim of the entire leaderboard this week came from this bracket: Jett Hatchard's 58.18 100 Back at age 13 scored 1117 points, the highest total across all eight boards. Daniel Bunge's 56.41 100 Fly wasn't far behind at 1090, and the two, plus a strong Jacob Lee breaststroke swim at No. 3, gave the top of this list serious separation from the rest of the field. Lubo Liu-Tchorbadjiyski's 51.03 100 Free at No. 4 carries extra weight this week — the time stands as a National Age Group Record in the 13–14 Boys 100 Free (more below). Backstroke was well represented all the way down, with Hatchard, Kirsling, Norem, and Daniel also landing top-10 finishes in either the 100 or 200 distance.
Record Watch: Lubo Liu-Tchorbadjiyski Sets NAG Record
Lubo Liu-Tchorbadjiyski's 51.03 100 Free doesn't just top the 13-14 Boys board — it's a new National Age Group Record in the 13–14 Boys 100 Free. At 14, Liu-Tchorbadjiyski still has room within that age bracket, and this swim immediately puts him at the top of the national conversation in the event heading into the rest of the summer season.

Backstroke dominated the list overall, claiming six of the ten spots across the 100 and 200 distances. The 200 Back in particular produced a bunched trio at Nos. 8-10, with Macey Degroot, Ava Grazziani, and Abby Chan all within two-tenths of each other in points.

NCAP and ZSC each landed two swimmers apiece — NCAP's Gabe Hanson and Jo Witdoeckt, and ZSC's Khairi Slater and Everett Heiser — giving both programs a real presence at the top of this board. Postovalov and Tran tied exactly at 962 points despite racing different distances of breaststroke, another good example of how the scoring system can put very different swims on level footing.
