LCM Power Points Leaderboard: Edition 15 (August 6–12)

Another week of long course racing is in the books, and this edition's board is defined by one thing above all: backstroke. From the 10&Unders through the Senior ranks, 100 and 200 back swims dominated the top-10 lists on both the boys' and girls' sides — nowhere more dramatically than in the 15-18 Girls division, where five of the top six spots belong to the 100 back alone. Here's a full breakdown of the swims that mattered most across the country this week, ranked by USA Swimming power points.

Week at a Glance

• Top swim of the week: Elliot Leasure (14, RSC) posted the highest power points total on the entire board — 1,150 — with a 54.92 100 back that also paces the 13-14 Boys group by a wide 53-point margin.
• 100 back takes over the 15-18 Girls board: Five of the top six swimmers in the division — Maggie Dickinson, Lane Francis, Thea Bike, Sydney Wasylenky, and Ines Arnall — all qualified on the same event, with just over a second separating first from sixth.
• 13-14 Boys backstroke depth: Four of the top ten swims in the division came from the 100 back, led by Leasure and Jett Hatchard.
• Exact tie at the bottom of the 15-18 Girls board: Charlie Terrell (50 free) and Alex Siegel (400 free) both scored 947 points to share rank 9 — a reminder that power points can level very different events.
• Notable age-group performance: Griffin Lin, just 11 years old, topped the 11-12 Boys board with a 1,059-point 200 breast, the second-highest point total of any age group this week.
• 400 IM shows up three times on the 11-12 Girls list, a sign of real depth building in that event at the younger end of the age group.

Iris Liu's 38.13 in the 50 breast leads the way at 1,083 points, and it's a strong week for breaststroke overall with four swims from that stroke cracking the top 10. Nine-year-olds Liu, Jones, Conway, and Kovalyov all show up here, a promising sign for the youngest end of this age group.

Backstroke sets the tone here too, with Robert Legg's 1:12.31 leading a group that includes three 100 back swims inside the top four. PC placed three different swimmers in the top 10 across the boys' and girls' boards this week.

Zoe Hatfield's 33.92 in the 50 breast tops the board, but the story of the week is 400 IM depth — three swimmers (Burke, Gu, and Chiang) all landed inside the top eight on that event, with Burke and Gu separated by just eleven-hundredths of a second and a single power point.

Griffin Lin's 2:43.73 in the 200 breast is the standout swim of this group — at just 11 years old, his 1,059 points is the second-highest total on the entire board this week, trailing only Elliot Leasure. It's also worth noting he's a full 60 points clear of second place.

Lillie Dirito's 1:02.23 headlines the group at 1,054 points, and backstroke continues its strong week — the 100 and 200 back combine for four of the top five swims here. Autumn McIntosh's 16:37.02 in the mile is the lone distance swim to crack this top 10, and it's a big one, worth 1,029 points.

This is the deepest board of the week. Elliot Leasure's 54.92 isn't just the best swim in the 13-14 group — at 1,150 points, it's the top-scoring swim across every age group and gender this edition, and it comes with a 53-point cushion over Jett Hatchard in second. Backstroke shows up four times in the top 10 (Leasure, Hatchard, Norem, and Lamb), and it's also worth flagging that ACAC placed two swimmers — Norem and Lamb — inside the top seven.

This is the week's headline group. Five of the top six swims came in the 100 back, with Maggie Dickinson's 1:00.71 leading a pack so tight that less than a second separates first from sixth place. Add Rowyn Wilber's 200 back at eighth, and backstroke accounts for six of the top ten swims in this division. Rounding out the board, Charlie Terrell and Alex Siegel tied exactly at 947 points on completely different events — a good illustration of how the power points system levels sprint and distance freestyle against each other.

Reef McMeeking's 1:01.99 100 breast tops the group, but this board is really defined by breaststroke and IM strength rather than backstroke, a nice contrast with the girls' side. Kota Charles and Jack Maddan are separated by just seven-hundredths of a second and one power point in the 200 breast, and every swim in the top 10 is worth over 1,000 points — the most competitive floor of any group this week.
