USA Swimming Recognized DEVELOPMENT COMPETITION EVENTS

In development competitions, events are selected from the following recognized list of events for swimmers who are 12 years and younger:

Freestyle:

• 25 meters/yards
• 50 meters/yards
• 100 meters/yards

Backstroke:

• 25 meters/yards
• 50 meters/yards

Breaststroke:

• 25 meters/yards
• 50 meters/yards

Butterfly:

• 25 meters/yards
• 50 meters/yards

Individual Medley:

• 100 meters/yards

Freestyle Relay:

• 100 meters/yards
• 200 meters/yards

Medley Relay:

• 100 meters/yards
• 200 meters/yards

Mixed Competition Category Freestyle Relay:

• 100 meters/yards
• 200 meters/yards

Mixed Competition Category Medley Relay:

• 100 meters/yards
• 200 meters/yards

These events provide young swimmers with a range of competitive opportunities to develop their skills and love for the sport. Eligibility for participating in these events is subject to the regulations and guidelines set by the respective LSCs.
