Backstroke ruled the week. Across the 13-14 and 15-18 age groups, six of the eight top-three spots came from the 100 Back, headlined by a 1,093-point swim from Elliot Leasure that stands as the top individual performance of the edition. Meanwhile, the 10&U ranks continued to be a showcase for 9-year-olds, and a couple of age-adjusted scoring quirks gave us plenty to unpack. Here's the full breakdown by age group.

    10&U

    Girls

Rank Swimmer Age Team Event Time Points
    1 Iris Liu 9 PLS 50 Breast 38.78 1053
    2 Jordin Omoniyi 9 CFSC 50 Fly 33.03 1006
    3 Addie Farrier 10 CAT 100 Fly 1:09.83 988

Iris Liu's 38.78 in the 50 Breast leads the group, but it's the age split that stands out β€” both of the top two spots belong to 9-year-olds, with Addie Farrier the lone 10-year-old to crack the podium.

    Boys

Rank Swimmer Age Team Event Time Points
    1 Lucas Gamino 9 TCA 100 Fly 1:14.13 1049
    2 Gabriel Brown 10 FAST 100 Back 1:09.76 1043
    3 Austin Ren 9 KATY 50 Breast 39.46 1020

Same story on the boys' side β€” Lucas Gamino and Austin Ren, both 9, bookend Gabriel Brown's 10-year-old effort at #2. It's a strong reminder that in the 10&U bucket, age-adjusted scoring can put the younger swimmers right at the top.

    11-12

    Girls

Rank Swimmer Age Team Event Time Points
    1 Sarah Chiang 11 PDST 400 IM 5:27.40 939
    2 Kylie Latham 11 BD 50 Fly 30.16 929
    3 Vanessa Delev 12 BAD 200 Fly 2:23.54 919

Sarah Chiang's 400 IM tops the group, and it's worth noting she's just 11 β€” taking on the grueling 400 IM at that age and turning it into the week's top points swim in the bracket is a nice sign of range.

    Boys

Rank Swimmer Age Team Event Time Points
    1 Hunter Gumbayan 12 SRA 200 Free 1:59.46 1042
    2 Maverick McMeeking 12 LAKR 100 Free 55.87 985
    3 David Li 11 BREA 200 Fly 2:33.41 983

Hunter Gumbayan's sub-2:00 200 Free was the standout swim in this bracket, clearing 1,000 points and putting real distance between himself and the rest of the field.

    13-14

    Girls

Rank Swimmer Age Team Event Time Points
    1 Lauren Lonsdale 14 DART 100 Back 1:01.64 1031
    2 Lillie Dirito 13 YY 100 Back 1:03.85 990
    3 Payton Garnsey 14 DST 100 Breast 1:11.11 961

Backstroke takes two of the three spots here, with Lauren Lonsdale's 1:01.64 the class of the group. Lillie Dirito's 1:03.85 is especially notable given she's the youngest swimmer in the top three at 13.

    Boys

Rank Swimmer Age Team Event Time Points
    1 Elliot Leasure 14 RSC 100 Back 56.28 1093
    2 Ayden Tan 13 SRVA 200 IM 2:09.39 1076
    3 Alex Kirsling 13 NTRO 100 Back 1:00.93 1009

The headline swim of the entire edition: Elliot Leasure's 56.28 in the 100 Back is worth 1,093 points, the highest total on this week's board across every age group. Ayden Tan's 2:09.39 200 IM isn't far behind at 1,076, and with Alex Kirsling also cracking 1,000 in the 100 Back, this was the deepest and fastest bracket of the week.

    15-18

    Girls

Rank Swimmer Age Team Event Time Points
    1 Daniela Linares Danzos 16 PLS 200 Back 2:09.89 995
    2 Thea Bike 16 SCST 100 Back 1:01.33 980
    3 Lane Francis 16 NOVA 100 Back 1:01.53 972

Backstroke sweeps this group entirely, and the battle for #2 and #3 was the tightest finish of the week β€” Thea Bike and Lane Francis, both 16, separated by just two-tenths in the 100 Back and eight points in the standings.

    Boys

Rank Swimmer Age Team Event Time Points
    1 Cullen Cashman 15 SSYS 100 Breast 1:02.96 1040
    2 Luka Mijatovic 17 PLS 200 IM 2:00.73 1008
    3 Parker Van Olst 16 WAVE 100 Breast 1:02.82 1000

This one's a good example of how power points and raw speed can diverge. Parker Van Olst actually posted the faster time of the two 100 Breast swims (1:02.82 to Cullen Cashman's 1:02.96), but Cashman comes out on top in points β€” a function of the age adjustment, since Cashman is 15 to Van Olst's 16.

    Week at a Glance

    • Top swim of the week: Elliot Leasure's 56.28 100 Back (14, RSC) β€” 1,093 points, the highest total on this edition's board.
    • Closest finish: Thea Bike and Lane Francis, 15-18 Girls, separated by 0.20 seconds and 8 points in the 100 Back.
    • Notable age observation: In the 10&U bracket, 9-year-olds took four of the six podium spots across both genders, outscoring several 10-year-old counterparts.
    • Stroke/thematic pattern: Backstroke dominated the older age groups, accounting for six of the eight top-three swims in 13-14 and 15-18 combined β€” and it also produced this week's age-adjusted scoring wrinkle in the 15-18 Boys' breaststroke race.

All standards shown are AAAA. Rankings reflect top power-points performances added to SwimStandards between July 9 and July 15, 2026, with one best swim counted per swimmer per age bracket and gender.

It depends on the swimmer’s age and gender. 😊

For example, a 35.00 in the 50 LCM Freestyle is:

            • 10-year-old boy: A
            • 10-year-old girl: AA
            • 11-year-old boy: BB
            • 11-year-old girl: BB
            • 12–13 boys: B
            • 12–13 girls: BB
            • 14–18 boys: Below B
            • 14–18 girls: B

AAAA corresponds to 98%, AAA to 94%, AA to 92%, A to 85%, B to 45%, and BB to 65%.

You can look up the full USA Swimming Motivational Time Standards here:
