Because Pan Pacs and Jr. Pan Pacs draw entries from multiple national federations, this month's leaderboards include a number of international athletes — Australian, Canadian, Chinese, Japanese, New Zealand, and Argentine swimmers all show up below, all 18-and-under, and all posting times that landed in our database regardless of which country they represent. For clarity, international entries are labeled by nationality rather than club, since they don't compete for USA Swimming-affiliated teams.

On the American side, the story of the month is unquestionably Elliot Leasure, the 14-year-old from Rochester Swim Club, who posted a 1150 power points swim in the 100 back — the single highest power points total anywhere in this dataset, edging out even the fastest performances from Pan Pacs.

Meet Recap

Speedo Junior National Championships (Aug 3) produced the deepest age-group storylines of the month, headlined by Elliot Leasure's historic backstroke swims and a string of huge power points performances from 13-year-olds Jett Hatchard and Ayden Tan.

Pan Pacific Championships (Aug 12) brought the international swimmers to the top of several sprint and mid-distance boards — Japan's Shin Ohashi and Yumeki Kojima, China's Yaqi Fan and Junjie Liu, Australia's Sienna Toohey, and New Zealand's Milan Glintmeyer all posted times that would headline a normal U.S. meet.

Junior Pan Pacific Championships (Aug 17, Vancouver) was where most of the top American 16-18 swimmers converged, with Rylee Erisman, Audrey Derivaux, Wilson York, and Luka Mijatovic all turning in strong efforts representing the U.S. junior national team.

Month at a Glance

Rylee Erisman (Windermere Lakers) was the most dominant American swimmer of the month, topping the women's 100/200 free and 100/200 back at Pan Pacs.

Luka Mijatovic (Pleasanton Sea Hawks) continued his distance free dominance from July, sweeping the 200, 400/500, 800/1000, and 1500/1650 free at Jr. Pan Pacs.

Elliot Leasure's 1150 power points swim in the 100 back is the highest single mark in this month's entire dataset — higher than any Pan Pacs swim by any athlete, of any age, from any country.

Wilson York (Lakeside Swim Team) again led the boys' breaststroke events by power points, going 1-2 in the 200 breast at Jr. Pan Pacs.

A deep group of swimmers age 15 and under — Jett Hatchard, Ayden Tan, Iris Liu, Xingchen Lu, Lillie Dirito, and Griffin Lin — posted power points numbers in the 1,000-1,130 range, well above what most of the month's fastest raw times scored.

Young Stars to Watch

As in July, the highest power points swims of the month came largely from swimmers well under 18 — several of them not even old enough for the events listed above. A few names to file away heading into the SCY season:

Elliot Leasure, 14 (Rochester Swim Club) — his 54.92 in the 100 back scored 1150 power points, the top mark in this month's entire dataset, and his 50 back (1132) and 200 back (1095) weren't far behind.

Jett Hatchard, 13 (Utah Swimming) — a 26.99 in the 50 back scored 1125 power points, and he also cracked 1040+ in the 100 and 200 back.

Ayden Tan, 13 (San Ramon Valley Aquatics) — his 2:08.85 in the 200 IM scored 1087 power points, and a 25.95 in the 50 fly scored 1102.

Iris Liu, 9 (Pleasanton Seahawks) — continuing her July form, her 38.13 in the 50 breast scored 1083 power points at the Western Zone Age Group Championships.

Xingchen Lu, 15 (China) — a 28.26 in the 50 back scored 1076 power points, tops among all female swimmers this month regardless of nationality.

Lillie Dirito, 13 (York YMCA) — went 1:02.23 in the 100 back for 1054 power points, the top mark in that event ahead of several 16-18-year-old Pan Pacs qualifiers.

Griffin Lin, 11 (Swim Kauai Aquatics, Hawaii) — a 2:43.73 in the 200 breast scored 1059 power points at the Western Zone meet.

None of these swimmers show up on the raw-time tables above, since they're competing in age groups well below the 15-18 fields that dominate the clock. But on power points, this group is setting the pace for what's coming up through the pipeline.

Month at a Glance

Meets of the month: Speedo Junior National Championships (Aug 3), Pan Pacific Championships (Aug 12), and Junior Pan Pacific Championships (Aug 17) combined to produce nearly every top swim this month.

Most dominant individual sweep: Luka Mijatovic (Pleasanton Sea Hawks), topping the boys' 200, 400/500, 800/1000, and 1500/1650 free for the second straight month — and improving his time in every one of them.

Top international performances: Japan's Yumeki Kojima and Shin Ohashi, China's Yaqi Fan and Junjie Liu, Australia's Sienna Toohey, and New Zealand's Milan Glintmeyer all posted times that topped or nearly topped their events at Pan Pacs.

Highest power points swim overall: Elliot Leasure's 1150 in the 100 back — again the single highest mark in the dataset, surpassing his own July total.

Rising storyline: A cluster of swimmers 15 and under — Jett Hatchard, Ayden Tan, Iris Liu, Xingchen Lu, Lillie Dirito, and Griffin Lin — posted power points in the 1,050-1,130 range, keeping pace with (and in several cases exceeding) the international senior field.

Standards and rankings reflect USA Swimming Power Points as calculated from August 2026 LCM competition results. International athletes (LSC code "un") are labeled by nationality rather than club, since they do not compete for USA Swimming-affiliated teams; their swims are included because Pan Pacific and Junior Pan Pacific Championships draw multi-national entries and are recorded in the SwimStandards database regardless of the athlete's home federation. One top-time swim per swimmer is shown per event category where possible; multi-event performances are noted narratively. Club links are omitted where source data was incomplete or inconsistent.
